I've been on a roll lately in launching my real estate career: creating blogs, registering my businesses (jpearl Services) on websites, prospecting for customers. I can't remember when was the last time I felt this excited about a job. It is taking a while to get the combination right, but I am 100% sure that leaving Ford Motor Company was the best decision I've made for my life. (I have to give a shout out to Ford though. FoMoCo is one of the best places in the world to work, and I thank them for all they did for me!)
My creative juices have been flowing. So I decided last night to do something I haven't done before. I put my right leg into my pants first instead of my left leg. (Wow, IKR). It felt weird, and I was a little unsteady. I didn't know if I should do it exactly like I do normally on the left side, which is hold the pants low to the floor and step in, or if I should do it like I normally do with the right leg, which is hold the pants up higher, lift my leg, bending it at the knee. Well the "how" is not really important, but what is important is the fact that I did it. I stepped out of my comfort zone that I and many of us have been in for years and years. I didn't miss either of the holes or fall over and hit my head on the nightstand. I SUCCEEDED in putting my pants on-- all by mself.
So for those who might have had thoughts of starting your own business but you've put it on the backburner because of lingering doubts about this or that, take it from me-- Just Do It! (Okay, that's Nike, but you get my point.) There is nothing to be afraid of but fear itself. Failure is not such a scary concept. It just means that you might have to switch to the right leg or even put your shoes on first-- find the right combination that works for you. Either way, trust me, you'll look MARVELOUS!
